Can you believe that Thanksgiving is over, and Christmas is literally only 25 days away? CRAZY!
So, how was your Thanksgiving? I hope you were able to relax and enjoy some down time.
I spent all of Wednesday preparing food, which made Thanksgiving day go much smoother; it was nice to be prepared for once!
Thursday night, I was hit with another nasty upper respiratory virus, which basically had me off my feet through the weekend. It was awful!
i don’t know why on earth I got sick again; I’ve basically been sick off and on for over two weeks now. Enough is enough. Anyway, here’s hoping I’m on the mend and I’ll stay that way for a while!
since I was sick, I was unable to keep up with my tradition of going out Black Friday shopping with my hubby and older kids; however, my hubby and I woke up at 3:00am that morning to order my new iPad Pro! And let me tell you, having my new iPad was a nice distraction from how bad I was feeling!
in other news, I’m happy to say that I’m actually ahead of the game with my Christmas shopping! Not only that, but for the first time EVER, I’m even wrapping the gifts as soon as I bring them home (or when Amazon delivers them, whichever the case may be!). In the past, I’ve always stashed the gifts in various places, and didn’t get around to wrapping them until the week of Christmas, which by then makes wrapping very stressful!
For the record, I will say that I absolutely love doing 99% of my Christmas shopping from the comfort of my couch and iPad! I guess I’m getting old or something, because I’m becoming more and more of a home body, and shopping from home is right up my alley! Oh, and did I mention that Amazon.com happens to be my best friend?
I was so proud of myself for eating well over Thanksgiving weekend; I didn’t heap my plate with food, nor did I have multiple servings of dessert! It was nice to be able to walk comfortably away from the table and not feel miserable!
fast forward to today, and eh, not so much.
quite frankly, sugar is my biggest weakness, and I think I’d be better off without it. Permanently!
sure, I say that now, but I’ll be singing a different tune when the Christmas goodies are all around me!
seriously though, I don’t like the hold that sugar has on me, and I’m seriously considering switching my family to a Paleo lifestyle after Christmas. I’ve eaten Paleo in the past when I did my first Whole 30, and I honestly never felt better in my life!
my oldest son suffers from eczema, and I’ve read that eating a whole food diet like Paleo can help heal eczema, as well as other health issues.
I’m going to be 46 years old next month, and I’m realizing more and more how important my health is; not to mention the health of my husband and kids!
If I make the switch to Paleo come January, I’ll be sure to keep you posted on how it goes!
Do you plan to make any big changes in the New Year? I’d love to hear all about it in the comments!
